| Who teaches
at the French School? The instructors are all native
French speakers with experience teaching adults and children,
in some cases for more than 10 years. For the teacher of the
Act in French program also have a background in performance.
Who attends the French School? Students
of the French School of NYC include children, undergraduates,
business travelers, retirees, authors, and celebrities (the
son of Steven Speilberg, among others).
What do I need to bring? Depending
on your level and your objectives, the teacher might require
you to purchase a textbook. Meanwhile, just bring a sturdy notebook
and an audio recorder if you like.
How do
I pay? Online
payment is available. We accept major credit cards, Visa, MasterCard,
Discover and American Express or you can call us if
you prefer to pay over the phone. Otherwise, you may send
us a check or money order (payable to Active French), to 400 Central Park West #5M, New York, NY 10025.
What is the policy on make-up classes? Students are allowed to make up classes within 2
weeks after the
missed class only in another class of the same level
if available.
What if I have to cancel a private session or tutorial? For
cancellation or change of appointment, 24 hours advanced notice
is required or you will be expected to pay the full price of
the session.
Can I receive
a refund once I have purchased a package of private classes
or a course? Refunds are only
available before the classes start. An administrative fee
of $70 will be automaticly deducted from any refund.
When do you offer private and small group classes?
Mornings, afternoons and evenings, 7 days a week.
How many students are in each
class? For
the small group classes,
the number ranges from 2-6 students.
Will I be able to receive a
tuition credit or refund if I need to withdraw from a class? Refunds
are only available before the classes start.
Should I register online even if I am a returning student? Yes,
unless you have purchased a package which is still valid.
Can I join a class during the semester? Yes,
you can join an existing class on the condition that you are
at the same level as the class. You may be asked to take one
or more private classes to catch up. This will be determined
at the end of your brief free assessment. Contact us ASAP.
What are the charges for off-site
locations? OFF-SITE
LOCATIONS ARE ALWAYS a $30 charge, possibly more if you are further
away from us. Just send us a request and we will be able to tell
you how much it will cost you.
